2500 mile guarantee, how old is this jug?

Was at Danner to pick up a pair of boots, and they had a corner with all kinds of things. Thought I'd share a snap of this jug. I didn't mess with it, but wanted to see the mfg date.

I'm seeing 1940's or 1950's online. How much for the jug? I'm seeing these in the $50-90 per jug range online.

They weren't selling it, it was on display in a corner of the store with other local memorabilia. I later found out it was made in Portland, OR, which makes sense as the store was in Portland, about 3 miles away from where they make the shoes.

I thought of the same regarding the name.
