Too great a chance of contaminating the actual filter, which evidently wasn't designed to be oiled.
I had to deconstruct this for the 6-monthly vehicle inspection. I'll probably re-instate it, but car got flooded while I was away so have to deal with that first.

Never have been able to understand the fascination with using toilet paper to filter oil. Is there a gene for this?
Interesting. A filter for your filter. 🤔 do you do a lot of driving in the dirt/sand/construction zones? I don't see the necessity for adding a restriction to your air filter. Why not just get one of these instead https://www.knfilters.com/mobile/airforcewraps.htm?pkid=6338143&rw=5

LOL those pictures were enlightening none of that TP and any of that brown filter efficiency enhancing material.
If a guy gets a little more than he bargains for after a night at the Tex-Mex restaurant, he can just stop the car and pop the hood. When the wife, whose view is blocked by the hood, asks what he's doing, he can truthfully say he's making an adjustment to the air filter.
