My understanding to qualify to be a A5/B5 oil the oil needs to meet A1/B1 and A3/B3 specs. If that is indeed the case , why wouldn't the labeling on a oil bottle list A1 A3 A5 approved ? But the do not , they list A1 and A5 . They is a good chance im just over thinking

No, not really. A3/B3 oils do not have to meet any fuel economy requirements. A1/B1 and A5/B5 need to have an improvement in FE of 2.5% greater than reference oil (15w-40) The oil in your picture is not A3/B3.

Might be hard to see the oil in picture is 5w30 pp. So im wrong in my conclusion that to be A5 it has to meet A1 and A3 ? Im aware that A3 is not a fuel efficiency standard . On a side note in my Vw 1.8t gen 3 by switching from Mobil 1 0w40 to Castrol 0w40 both A3 oils i have seen a decent mpg increase . I do a fairly short oci . Engine sounds much smoother also

Incorrect. They are different specs. A higher number does not mean it meets all the lower number specs.

Also A1/B1 has been removed from ACEA sequences as of 2016, so it is an extinct spec.

Refer to my sig:

The best MPG, and smoothest and quietest running engine, in my Dodge B2500 was from the oil in my sig. I tried everything from 5w-20 to 10w-40. EXACTLY the same results with the Ford Ranger. The Ranger owners manual called for 5w-20 but the engine was originally designed for 5w-30. No major engine changes from 1993 to 2005 that were oil related.

Yes, this - to the point that we'll never see one. It'd be much like having A3/B4 and E7, E9 all at the same time.
