Does a 326 count as "muscle"? Was that on a Tempest, perhaps?

My first car at 15yo was a 1970 Pontiac LeMans with a very tired 350 which was on it's last leg. About a year after buying that car, I found a 400 engine listed in the local paper for $100 IIRC, so I bought it and spent the next month swapping out the 350. The new engine ran great but had the power of a straight 6, zero to sixty in just under a cup of coffee. Took the car in to shop class one day and a friend decided to look up the numbers. Low and behold it turned out to be a 326.

If the 326 moniker is on a Firebird, the top level was a 285 horse ( I think ) HO version ..... so, no, not muscle by today's standards .....

i remember seeing most of these emblems in the parking lot at school.

No AMX's at the show? The last AMX I saw was embedded in the side of a building I own. A 390, IIRC.

Someone owns an apparently otherwise nice big-block C2 Vette and still feels the need to put fake SS badges on it?

This is why we can't have nice things.

There was a pic of a Javelin.

I have that same 426 hemi sticker on my tool box at home. I found a lone valve cover at the junkyard that was 1/2 smashed. I bought it and I managed to get the sticker off it with a hair dryer at home. I will try to remember to get a pic tonight.

Here are the ones on my tool box. The 426 I removed from a valve cover @ pic apart back in the late 80's. The 428 was on a ford station wagon. A friend and I pulled that 428 out in record time!

The super spot was a 65 impala if I remember correctly. I nabbed the emblems and center console out of it. The heads were already gone from itts 396.

The "Snake" emblem on my 2012 Shelby GT 500 (550 HP, 5.4L V8). One of the few cars I have sold that I wish I had back. Had this when I joined the forum thus my name "Silver Snake."

My old 68 L36 Plain Jane Roadster. It sez 427 on the hood and CORVETTE on the back. That's about it.
