It would be interesting to see if it can be gas deposited onto other metals to form a very thin surface coat.

Boy will I be happy when ALL vehicles on public roads are autonomous.

Or Razor Blades for shaving, and many other uses.

New materials have always existed, they just have to be discovered.

That's why I wish I could find a way to make gold --- not because I like bling, but there are many good engineering uses for gold. If only it was cheaper.

It's only three protons away from lead and one proton from mercury. Just need to find a way to strip protons cheaply.

Sounds like it's intended as an electrical contactor/switch material.

The hyperbole about tyres and going around the world is poor journalism...you won't see a set of piston rings or an alternator bearing made out of this material (or a tyre)

Platinum and gold alloy--this might make DLCs look inexpensive.

I don't know how much more wear resistant and tougher you can get than Ti-6Al-4V and associated Ti alloys.
