The oil is finally cleaning up on this old forklift of mine. I've run this sample 5 hrs on this oil change and 21 hrs since my last sample on Shell Rotella T4 15W40.

What an improvement over what it was when you sampled the original oil. Even years of neglect and years of running without an air cleaner are cleaning up nicely in this old diesel workhorse. Thanks for posting!

It's amazing really after all the neglect this engine has endured over the last 30 years it runs so well. It starts well now and smokes for about 3 minutes then cleans up and no smoke. Doesn't burn oil, no wet stacking anymore and no black smoke under a load, so very happy with the way this one turned out.

UOA seems to indicate it's "clearing the baffles" and ready for more use.
How many more short OCIs are you going to do before you start a more "normal" OCI?

I'll probably do one more 20 hr cycle and that should be enough, then look at 50-100 hrs cycles.
Really cool to see the progress you're making with that engine. Neat to see an old machine brought back to life. Thanks for the update.
