When I see an oil change special and the filter is from Purolator I pass. I've been doing better buying Fram Ultra filters from Ebay and the oil from Walmart, especially when Pennzoil has the rebates running, and they coincide with a Rollback.
They synthetic purolators are the only ones that didn’t have problems.
I'm unaware of any Boss synthetic filters having tear issues. Haven't seen it. That being the case, guess I missed the punch line.
I picked up two of these at AAP last month. 10 quarts of Pennzoil Platinum Euro 5W-40 and two Puro Boss filters. One to cut and one to run - not a bad deal for $67.
