Sunroof Rail

2010 Terrain, the sunroof is getting sticky and for sure it needs some kind of lube. There seems that be an amber almost translucent grease of some sort in there now.

Would have to clean what we have out and then add new, something that won't drip and stain the roof liner and us too.

I use Superlube synthetic on mine. Sil-Glyde will work well. I am sure everyone has their favorite.

I neglected to tell you that I am from Canuckistan. I checked with my local Napa, and the partsperson I spoke with said that it wasn't available.

Any other suggestions?

Just an aside, do you know if the sunroof should be lubricated? I ask because my BMW specifically cautions not to lube anything. This in and of itself will make it sticky and wear out faster. Some are supposed to be and some aren't.

MB has a grease specifically for sunroof rails. Many parts sites sell a little vial of it since it has to be bought in bulk. Use very little...
