I have never seen it at Walmart, but I guess they have the ability to ship to store or home from their distribution center. No surprise that they are the same price.

I’ll buy from WM over amazon any day. Recently received a shipment of Techron from amazon and the bottles were loosely rolling around in a big box with no plastic bag, leaking all over.

Napa has Valvoline MST 5w30 on sale for $5.49/qt this month. So when you buy 5 quarts, that makes it over $5 cheaper than the Castrol, plus you get the single quart bottles which are easier to pour smile

$33 a jug is a RIP-OFF

I'll buy M1 or Edge for less than that

Yes it’s steep compared to a GF-5 oil, but it’s a low volume product. You can’t “buy M1 or edge for less.” Previous posted mentioned a good deal on Valvoline MST, which is also an ACEA C3, dexos2 oil.

PP Euro L 5W-30 is another option that can be found at Walmart for ~$23 a jug.

Actually i can buy Magnatec for $20~ at Wal Mart

I can also buy Mobil 1 0w30 which i did today for $22~ 5quart jug. After rebate it will be $10 smile

So, i did buy M1 for "less than $23 a jug"

@car51, the oils you bought at Walmart are NOT the same as the OP's dexos2 Castrol smile

Remember that dexos2 is NOT the same as d1g2!

The only 5w30 dexos2 sold at Walmart is PP Euro L 5w30. The OP's Castrol dexos2 is like PP Euro L

I know what DEXOS 2 is. The EDGE OP listed must be "special"

Anyways, I have some of the PP EURO "L" as got it for $9 a jug when wal mart carried it smile

Car51 you keep bringing up irrelevant facts here. The oil isn’t special, it’s just a less popular specification. We are talking about ACEA C3, dexos2 oils here. Not the garden variety SN/GF-5.

Some people like particular brands over the other. I posted in case someone was partial to Castrol, since the price is low historically speaking.

Why the need to turn this section of bitog into a competition? Good for you and your $9 jug.

Oh you're lucky!

At my local Walmart, it's still regular price!
