My Escort has had a rattly top end since i bought it but i noticed a new sound the last few days, a distinct clicking, slight tap probably from one of the hydraulic lifters.
I am planning to switch it back to either a 15W-40 HDEO or 20W-50 PCMO and adding the hydraulic lifter additive to see if it quietens it down.
From the reviews on Amazon the positive reviews far outnumber the negative, meaning it's worked for most people, have any of you used it?

Today it's exactly 3 months until we are laid off for the winter, i'm off work from November 1st until Valentine's day, i'm thinking of putting a new cam and lifters in it then, until then i don't have the time to properly do the job.
