That's correct. Plus - having a CVT (no wet clutch), I can use any oil I choose.

20-oz of oil, I can get 3 oc's from 2-qts. lol

Just drain and refill.

Does the CVT share the same oil, or is it separate?

CVT is basically a centrifugal clutch that opens up (with rpm's) to vary the speed range.
No oil needed.

The only other oil is regular 80-90 gear oil in the rear end.

i'm not really worried, i don't put a lot of miles on my bikes, and change the oil yearly, next year i'll cut it apart and check it out, i think i might have one or 2 more of these, i can't remember

otherwise i mainly use quakerstate filters in the same size, but i also have some defense 6607's as well, and some blue bosch filters

Moto: 2007 Yamaha FZ1

Previous Fill: Redline 10W40 and HiFlo 204RC oil filter

OCI Duration: App. 1200 miles- including 5 track days

Current Fill: Maxima Extra 4 15W50 and Yamaha OEM filter

did early oil changes on both the scoot & the moto due to more frequent idling & stop-n-go in traffic (paving, sewer pipe replacements, oil & natural gas pipeline construction zones); kept oil filters in place & used 'frankenbrew' of 15w-40's (traveller, valvoline white bottle) & leftover frankenbrew (10w-40 & 15w-40 & a touch of 10w-30 hdeo); think I added Amsoil OE 15w-40 a while back to augment the frankenbrew...

got less than a gallon left...might thin it out a bit with some 10w-40 m/c oil to do oil changes in the fall for winter storage
