Best grease for noisy car door hinges

I concur with the Würth HHS recommendation.

Not cheap, but it works well, is durable, and plastic/rubber safe.

It seems harder to get now, and they've altered it for enviro compliance, but I'd expect it to remain a good product.

I'm still nursing a can from many years ago. It has the picture of a door hinge right on the can, so there is no question about its purpose or suitability.

I struggled with this for years until I tried PJ1 Blue Label motorcycle chain lube. It sprays on watery thin and easily goes into the hinge while you open & close the door a few times. In a few minutes the carrier evaporates leaving a thick, tacky lube. Initially 2-3 applications a day apart might be necessary, afterwards, once a year if that.

You need an oil that has a low solvent content and actually has some EP/AW properties to it. High quality gun oils and other lubricants that have well proven track records are going to work a lot better. I use Corrosion-X but Superlube, Slip 2000, G96 and other high quality oils work well. WD-40 and most cheap, on the shelf at china-mart lubricants are mostly kerosene, that is why they doesn't last long.

When I replaced my torsion springs the spring seller told me about this.

ND-40 weight motor oil. Been there done that....

Trust me. You will thank me many months from now.

You will think you have installed new doors.

I found valvoline 60wt racing oil for the same reason.

There are no solvents in those oils, that is why they work so well.

I have used P B Blaster . Can not say it was best or last the longest . But it worked , at least short term .

Next time I may try 5W-30 synthetic motor oil .
