Okra: how do you make it and like it?

Breaded+Fried+salted is always fine, and is very common to find in OK.

However, I also like it NOT breaded but fried, which makes it very crunchy and kills the ooze.

Some Indian friends of mine showed me a trick where you pick the small ones (more delicate, less woody) and microwave them for a minute. Then just dip it in your favorite sauce. Delicious.

Sliced, then dredged in a bowl of Franks or Texas Pete hot sauce, coated in corn meal, then fried. This is the only way I’ll eat Okra. Some Southern restaurants serve it this way as an appetizer.

Fried with corn meal, pickled, or added into fresh peas at the end are the best ways.

Reminds me when someone said they prefer their eggnog poured "down the sink"

I used to make alcohol free egg nog when I was kid. It is great ! I've never had okra. I have always imagined it to be like white squash..

One of the few things I like there.
