Dimmer/ non dimmer
is it ok to use a Dimmer LED bulb in a socket where there is no dimmer??

These products are all new every year?? They are a revolution!!! Razor blades, mens shirts, TVs, wiper blades, gutter guards, hearing aids... according to the ads. But also all new last year

Yes that is OK. The bulb will simply operate at full brightness.

But of course not the other way-- don't try a non-dimmable bulb on a dimmer.

Have to remember led is a electronic device where a standard blub has a filiment and by varying voltage it dimms, led don't.

That's why they make LED bulbs that are dimmable and bulbs that are not. The dimmable ones usually cost a little more, but I've also seen them for the same price. I get the dimmables if the wattage is the same as the non dimmables as you never know when you might use them in a dimmable socket, typically in kitchen dining lights.
