If I continue to change the oil myself Edge 0w20 will be my choice. They lowered the NOACK from 13.3% to 10.9%. I’ve been impressed with Castrol’s TBN retention since their SN formulations came out. Castrol was also one of the first to go with the Mg/Ca combination along with M1 putting them ahead of the curve in that area. I will be curious to see how well this oil holds up going forward.

Your title might really intend to say "dexos1 Gen2" or "dexos2", I can't tell. The former is for gasoline engines, and the later for diesels. ....
This oil is neither of those.

It's impossible to have a dexos2 0w20 oil though, because the HTHS needs to be 3.5 and that's not possible with a 20 weight oil.

I meant dexos 1 gen 2, not that hard to tell at all.

Hope that helps.

Castrol Edge EP does not have the Dexos 1 gen 2 certification..... Only the regular Edge and Magnatec has the Dexos1 Gen 2 Cert.

Must have changed recently. https://www.bobistheoilguy.com/forums/ubbthreads.php/topics/4798926/1 is a 0w20 dexos2 diesel engine oil, for the 2019 3.0L GM pickup truck engines coming out soon. ... Probably HTHS=2.9 with that one, guessing. Higher than a normal 2.7 in gasoline 0w20's.

Thanks, you're correct. I just checked the approval list as well.

Castrol's PDS database is a mess.
