Well Nuts?

I am after some of these well nuts in M5 size.

Was wondering what are they called if I need to pick up from local AZ/PB or AAP.

Can one get these in bulk from RA? TIA

McMaster Carr calls them an “insulating rivet nut” but they don’t have them in metric sizes.

I hate those things. Jeep wranglers use them to hold on the ac condenser. They always spin instead of letting the bolt back out.

looked at Fastenal, and Menards, and Lowes websites, they only have them in SAE/Imperial sizes.

a quick google search for "M5 well nuts" turned up several online sources though...(plenty of 'em on Ebay)

They are called well nuts. You could probably get by with a similar SAE size but anyway here is M% and also a place I buy a lot of stuff from that also has a few.

For years GM would put those plastic nut sleeves over their lug nuts. Yet folks would try to remove / reinstall them with high-powered tools.

On my beach buggy Grand Wag luggage rack, I drilled through the well and used screws with fender washers to hold up the sagging headliner and hold the rack on securely.
