Lots of those kits come with 12 point sockets, which are useless and should have went out of style in the 80's, unless your fastener are 12 point.

If those wrenches are the Wrightgrip 2.0 they are up there with Snap On Flank Drive.
If you need fractional, that is.

What? 12 pt sockets can be invaluable in tight spots, they are a valuable addition in any mechanics box not just for 12pt fasteners.
Ever try swinging a long 6pt box wrench in confined spaces? Good luck with that.

I have plenty of old 12 point sockets. I've never noticed a problem. 12s work fine for most things. Common sense must be used.

Yeah, manly men don't use 12 pt sockets grin

Seems I forgot to throw mine out but will soon as I get home!

Thanks for the H/U on the Wright tools, don't own any but will.

12pt is all I use, unless I'm reaching for the impact gun.

I'll bite............12 point sockets are very useful, however I don't see a use for them for an impact wrench or an impact gun. I'll stick with the tried and true 6 point impact sockets for them.

I figured bubbatime would get a kick out of 12 point impact sockets is the only reason I posted those. grin2

Here's a 2-3/16" 3/4 drive for $15.29.

This looks like the largest 12 point impact Wright makes.

12 point is fine for most tasks as long as you’re buying quality sockets
