Not a real tractor, but a "super, zero-turn-radius 44" lawn mower" .Its been very difficult to find the correct oil for the "automatic-transmission" . . . Synthetic motorcycle 20-50 seems to be close , but this is both expensive and hard to find.. Also, the fluid is filthy..the time has come for a change ...I'll use the brake fluid gravity method - hope it works .. But, what oil is best !?? I will appreciate any input..

Many Kuboti's and Kioti tractors use hydrostatic gear boxes. Its fairly thin stuff; check your local store.

And NAPA 15W-50 is $2.99 a quart this week...

Looks like a Fram 3600 / Purolator 20195 / Wix 51516 filter...

a search reveals many options, but it seems 20-50 motor oil is IT. Amsoil TOUTS a specific hydrostatic fluid, + as always depends on $$$$ as to what you want or need!!

Maybe you can find some information from the company that builds the hydrostatic unit. On my Cub Cadet it only showed a spec for their specific hydrostatic fluid. By looking up the brand and model number of the hydrostatic unit they listed 2w50 or 15w40.
