My first car was a used 1986 Ford Escort with an impressive 77hp...now I am driving around in a 707hp monster. Times have changed and I am getting older. Hope everyone is well.

Mine was a 93 HP K-car

But, it was a car and never let me down. It had about 200k so it probably was putting out a whopping 60 HP by the time I got it.

Finally moved on to a Neon that felt like a rocket.

1996 Chevy Silverado C1500 5.7L Vortec.

Got a screaming deal from the neighbor for $700 when I was 16 in 2011, it had been sitting for a year because it needed brakes.

Loved that truck.

1965 Ford Galaxy 500 (2-door), 289 V8, 3-speed on the column ("3 on the tree") ... which I converted to "3 by the knee". Made a good drift car in the snow. smile Photo from 1974, think I paid about $700 used.

It really was. That 5.7L could go really good!

But I couldn't afford the gas anymore at the time, sold it for a 97' Camry.

You should have seen the junk my friends and I were in. Old K-cars, Tempos, Cavaliers. A friend had an old Accord and it threw a rod doing donuts in the snow LOL

Ugly '53 Mercury with three on the tree and a flat head eight. Bought it for a couple hundred in early '65 and the dealer told me not to drive it over 60. We were driving to Denver-- 100 degree temperatures in western South Dakota. Started over heating, got it up to 90 and it cooled right down. Had it died then and there, would have made the perfect res car if abandoned. We were but a small distance north of Pine Ridge reservation so everything would have worked out either way. Came with straight 20 weight oil and I poured in a bunch of STP when it got hot out. Stuff worked very well in that car (third nice thing about STP on the board this week-- must be a record.)

A '74 HJ Holden Kingswood with a 202 (3.3lt) inline six-cylinder engine and a 3 speed auto. It was set up for outback travel with gas shocks at the rear you could pump up, a limited slip rear diff., 12 slot mags, Hella spot lights, a sun visor over the wind screen, and Penrite HPR 30 (20W60) in the sump.

Great car. I drove it from Darwin to Brisbane with a mate. One drove and the other slept.

Note my actual car below, but a good example for those who don't know it.
