I have a few unopened quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic 2 stroke engine oil that is about 14 years old.
Can it deteriorate or go bad? Or will it last indefinitely?

What type engine are you going to use it in?
A cheap piece of outdoor equipment or an expensive outboard motor on a boat?
In an expensive engine, I would buy new and not keep a large stock and just buy fresh when needed
This may not be a good answer but that is what I would do

If there isn't anything settled out on the bottom or a sludgey mess in the bottle, it is probably fine. If it has either of those things, don't put it in anything you're not willing to risk losing.

I've got to ask; what is the purpose of leaving it in the sun for a while all about?
