It's that time again to replace the stylus on my turntable. It's a Realistic LAB-440 with a Shure R1000EDT cartridge. The last one I bought was a $15 dollar cheapie I got someplace (maybe Record Town in Ft Worth?). I want to get the best (reasonable of course) for this cartridge. I want the lightest tracking possible. How about this one from LP Gear? Bring on the suggestions!! Most of the records I play are originals from the mid to late 60s.

Here's my turntable:

I wish I could find those in nos, original Shure RS8T.

The only thing I know about matching up aftermarket styli from looking at the Shure cross reference catalog is that they're color matched. Mine as per Shure has to be the black one. The Jico and LP Gear ones look like the exact match.

I've had several over the years. Pickering, Stanton, and Grado. If I had to buy one today, it would probably be a Grado. It was the most dynamic, musical I ever had with the exception of a NAD high output moving coil. If you want to keep the Shure cartridge, my choice in stylus would be a Shure, and nothing else.
