I used to own a janitorial business so I had the opportunity to use a lot of cleaners and test them out. What I got use to and came to expect, when you spray the cleaner on, the dirt and grease should dissolve and run so you can wipe it off without using a scrub pad or brush. It seems today, nothing I use is this way.I

What have you tried, failed, succeeded?

Mr Clean for around the house.

I will use Zep Fast 505 or the Zep Orange depending what I'm using it on. My main go to degreaser is Krud Kutter. IMO Krud Kutter is tons better than Simple Green, and has no smell. (I don't like simple green smell)

Simple green for me also. I Tried purple power but it seemed harder to rinse off while not cleaning any better when compared to simple green.

I like LesToil as well, Lowes carries it. It is very similar to the original pine sol; A very strong pine oil based cleaner/degreaser that can be used for almost anything.

I use Super Clean in the purple bottle (Not the same as purple power) in varying strengths for almost anything. Straight, it's much stronger than simple green or anything similar. Diluted (as much as 10:1 or more) it still cleans a lot of things quite well and is much cheaper than most cleaners. A gallon is about $8 at Walmart. It is very common in commercial shops being sold cheaply in 5 gallon and 55 gallon containers.

I use it to clean very, VERY greasy antique engine parts all the time. Full strength just eats grease and oil, but can also damage paint and etch glass.

You can even use it as drain cleaner at full strength...it's mostly sodium hydroxide. (Lye) And it claims to be completely biodegradable. I even have a big bucket I use to soak things, it can be reused over and over again for quite some time.

I've used the dollar store "awesome" garbage...yeah, it's a little soapy and will clean some grease, but it is nothing compared to Super Clean, Simple Green, dish soap, or most any other name brand degreaser. There's a reason it's only $1.

I use 50% simple green for most stuff. My parts washer has their purple stuff thats OK for AL.
Maybe not the strongest thing in the world but its hasn't damaged ANYTHING ive used it on and I don't have to worry about it contaminating my well water. Ive even used it in the power washer on the vinyl siding.

But the real issue here is political correctness gone too far.
Can’t use the term [censored] N Span?
Really?
I hate this site.

Too true. Yet sadly, Cheese Nips prints out all too clearly.

WD-40 Specialist Industrial Strength Degreaser. Better than Super Clean, Simple Green, and is safe for short skin contact, and is also safe on plastics which is what I really need.
