What is the best concert you ever attended ?

For Rock -> Moody Blues San Jose 1968, Led Zepplin SF 1969 or 1970 (can't remember, Ha), Men at Work Concord Pavilion 1980's ...

My all time fav from a "true to themselves" standpoint was Amazing Rhythm Aces at Santa Cruz (Catalyst), maybe 1990... Small venue and they sounded EXACTLY like the records. Not one note off. That was the tightest, best played session I've heard live. Their sound guy was spot on.

From a jaw dropping and most enjoyable standpoint, it was Kitaro at LBC. That was an absolutely amazing concert and a mind bending journey around the world in music. If anyone ever gets the chance to see a Kitaro concert - GO. It will change your viewpoint on music and sound fusion

Five Finger Death Punch at the docks in Toronto. They were opening for korn. Half the audience left after 5FDP finished as most of them, like myself, were there to see 5FDP. It was an incredible intimate venue, I was like 3rd or fourth row from the stage.

Second best was Rammstein in Toronto. Decent seats, nowhere near as tight quarters (Air Canada Centre) however their shows are like a theatre production.

Nazareth, with Rush being the backup band, about 1975. During the last song, the stage filled with smoke. When the smoke cleared, the band was gone but the music was still playing loud and clear. Freaked us out.

All the ones I didn't attend over the years and investing all those $$$ saved into income producing securities. Only concert I ever attended was to see Charlie Pride at 1971 New Mexico State Fair.

By far, my most memorable concert experience was seeing Michael Jackson in Mungerdorfer stadium, in Koln, Germany in 1988. It was huge.. the stage was as wide as the playing field and must have been 3 or 4 stories tall. He did magic tricks, dancing, etc.. and truly had the crowd captivated. Never mind the fact that it was inside a gigantic stadium, and it was fully PACKED.

The man knew how to entertain.

Going to see The Arctic Monkeys this weekend and I'm pretty excited. Should be a great show.

Best show I've seen to date was Slayer at The NorVa.

I’m a big fan of Kitaro and have many of his older CDs. I haven’t been to his concerts but can only imagine the sound with the mix of technology and old instruments.

Mavericks at Kentucky Day School about 2016-- great small venue, and the Mavericks have been great every time I've seen them.

Aerosmith, (now called) Hollywood Casino Amphitheater (about 1995) and Steely Dan (same venue) about 2016. The place--like a lot of similar places built in the eighties-- is getting a bit old in the tooth, but Aerosmith in the mid nineties were at their peak. Steely Dan was always on my bucket list and the backup musicians are constantly being renewed and always in top form. Donald [censored] always had the right amount of cynicism.

The Mob (which was Chicago's best horn band, not Chicago IMO)-- I love horns and they got this legendary Vegas show band together for the first time in three decades for the South Dakota Rock Hall of Fame in Sioux Falls about nine years ago. For a bunch of old timers who hadn't seen each other in a long, long time this was the best horn concert I'd ever seen. Sorry Tower of Power and Blood Sweat and Tears, they blew you away. Plus they brought in about eight local hornmen so that there were about twenty up on a not too big stage. Partial clips are available on YouTube and I have a DVD somewhere.

Kenny Loggins at the Family Arena about 2006. Didn't expect much because when I think of Kenny Loggins I think of trees and granola but he built every one of his hits (didn't realize there were so many) into one a unified whole which started slow, got rockier and ended with a great finale. Maybe not my favorite but the most pleasant surprise.

ps-- the lead singer for Steely Dan's last name was censored. That's a bit much. If there's a censor dial, tune it down.

Honorable mention: BoDeans, Big Head Todd and the Monsters, Billy Joel, Eagles, Guess Who, Toto.

I haven't been to a whole lot of concerts, but the best was Rush for their R40 tour a few years ago.

I saw them in 1998 in Saint John New Brunswick. I was at UNB at the time and I managed to get a concussion on the way to the concert. I don't remember most of it, mostly just that it was dark and smelled like pot, LOL

Roger Waters The Wall tours, 2010 and 2013. Doesn't seem like that long ago.

Great show if you can get past Roger's political views.

I thought about choosing this concert as my favorite but Roger Waters The Wall tour was my favorite. Tough to pick a "best" concert.

The Division Bell concert was at Bobby Dobb Stadium (Georgia Tech). Rained the whole show but it was a good one.
