Hmmm.... it has A3/B4, BMW LL-01, MB 229.5, VW 502/505 but not Porsche A40.

Here we get a full synthetic Magnatec 5W30 which is SN and A3/B4 but no OEMs. We also get an Edge 5W30 which is SL (high ZDDP), A3/B4, BMW LL-01 and MB 229.5. I always guessed one of two things, either the Magnatec 5W30 made the OEMs but Castrol didn't want to claim them so as not to steal sales from Edge. Or the high ZDDP in the Edge (only) was the critical part that was missing from Magnatec and was needed to pass the OEM wear tests.

Who knows ? Well Castrol does, but they will not tell.

Yep, only MB 229.3 my mistake.

Whenever I see an A3/B4 oil that is BMW LL-01 and only MB229.3 then I assume it's Noack is a touch over 10% as It's only MB229.5 that requires Noak volatility below 10%.

But as for Porsche A40, no idea.

NOACK on Magnatec is I think 13%.
It is Group III oil as it can get.

10.3

A3/B4 5w-40s will typically be for older cars in Europe. The Magnatec C3 version is the better oil IMO, 229.51, LL04 and A40.

hmmm, that is pretty good NOACK. Wondering why then it is not MB229.5? Pennzoil Euro L managed to get MB 229.51 with 11% NOACK (per their pds).
