It was a top 40 hit that dominated the radio stations of the day. I had never noticed before, but he sounds a lot like Elvis.

Yes exactly- I never really gave it much thought either and an older friend in her 80's thought this was Elvis.
I asked her today. I hear they died young. I remember Elvis in 1968, all dooded up in black and I don't think these guys
tried to copy him either. But that was the time when it was all going down. thanks!
