Last house, we had "instant" (instant after you waited 80 seconds) hot water...not a fan.

New house had a gas tank, next to the bathroom, and hit water to the shower in seconds...great. But it blew up a few weeks ago, so I got the biggest that would fit in that footprint.

Day 1 complaints that it was "too hot", if you run straight hot water into the sink, you scald yourself...checked it, 70C, really and actually too hot, so I turned it down to 62C.

Last week, my shower (I'm third in line) started going cold...I grizzled a little...two teenagers in the house prmised to do better...that repeated every morning for the rest of the week.

This week, same, and I pointed out that we've got a visitor coming next month, and we need to do better, if FOUR people need to have showers before school.

Was met with usual teenager stuff, never showering again, going to school dirty etc. etc.

On a hunch, went out to the hot water service and found it at 50C.

Reset it to 62.

Asked around, and the other three occupants of the house denied even knowing how to do it, let alone touching it.

So I put it down to the disincarnate entity who fiddles/breaks everything that happens around the place, and suggested that there's good money if anyone actually captures said ghost in action.

Was told that I'm being ridiculous.

But that's the only rational explaination.

Last night
* Wife - I have to add cold to the washing up water"

This morning
* Son - that water's hot, I had to add cold.
* Daughter - I had to add LOTS of cold today, I don't like it.

So clearly the ghost has sided with them.

Oh mate, what happen' with "The King of the house"?
I'm afraid you're against majority (1 adult + 2 teens + 1 invisible friend)

I guess you need to start experimenting with ash cement again...
custom grill?
bread oven?
rocket stove copper coil heating system?

Sitting here in a towell after my morning shower.

I had hot water all the way through, and to test, right at the end I turned to cold off...too hot for me to bear.

So clearly the corrective actions I made yesterday have been effective.

Will have to "seal the deal" so to speak after work.

Bit of norse, bit of Celt...and in case it's Fey folk.

That should do the trick.

The panel from the old heater fitted the new...the decoration is just for giggles.

The gasifying charcoal maker for my "Terra Preta" has me entertained ATM.

The bee is sitting on a block of Bismuth...I want to make those cubic bismuth Crystals.

Still doing "stuff"
