Was mounted over the top of the standard carby on an angle iron frame. Bottom pulley was mounted to the A/C pulley. Unfortunately totally NOT a supercharger in function.

Checked with the guy today, he's no longer got the vehicle...so no photos.

He did confierm that every time he had the top end open, there was nothing of note.

LOL Nice ones guys
Tom - good information thank you. Gonna start calling you the ester guy. Seems like you've worked a LOT with the majors with ester development thumbsup
Shannow - I remember the story of having dinner with that Castrol guy, recounted many years ago. That was my first association of Magnatec and the esters.

If it was a good value, sure. I suspect that most blends on the shelf these days use some type of high polarity fluid/esters - making them all "magnatec" essentially.

The last thing close to Magnatec in Canada was probably 10-15years ago, they had a "winter start up" version of GTX which apparently had those 'bonding' esters added. Used the classic GTX white bottle but there was blue colouring in the label.. to go along with the winter theme. I forgot what it was called though.

Magnatec along with Mobil Super is the cheapest non-Warren synthetic I see at the store, but if it was truly ester based or has some POE in it, when why is it cheap compared to M1/Edge/PP? Castrol was the first to use GIII base oils from what I've read here and most "synthetics" on the mass market except for some grades of M1 or Edge are GIIIs.

When I go to Walmart, some weights of Magnatec are synthetic and some are not. The 0w20 is synthetic, so I use it in my mom's 2011 Honda CRV.

It's available, just not so readily. One can find it listed at our NAPAs.

The 6 pack of 1 quart bottles on Amazon say full synthetic. Bottle also recommends using 0w-20 on 5w-20 GM vehicles. Why not 0w-20 in 5W-20 for all vehicles?

The price is right for a delivery every 6 months. I like the convenience of delivery. In addition, since I live in The City, there are no "big box" stores. I have to drive 30 - 45 miles, sometimes cross a bridge with toll, and lose several hours in traffic, just to shop at a Wally World, IKEA, and even Home Depot. Part of how The City protects it's small businesses is to selectively ban large chains. We don't even have to "corporate dining" chains. Everyone eats at a local restaurant, shops mom & pop stores, and pays the higher mark-up to keep those people in business and employ local residents. We eat real Chinese Food, not Panda Express. We eat real Mexican Food, not Chevy's. We eat real Italian Food, not pasta from the Sizzler salad bar. House of Prime Rib is way better than Lyon's. Once I factor in what it cost in time, fuel, and bridge toll charges when I leave The City, then I might as well stay home and order everything online, buy it local if I really need it right away.. Once you figure out what UPS charges for delivery of that much weight, and Haz-Mat, you're practically getting it for free.
