People are so paranoid about ebay, but there is no need. Yes, there are a lot of scams/counterfeit parts. If you receive such a thing, just start a return through ebay and you WILL get your money back. In most cases you will also keep whatever item was sent.
Ebay treats buyers as kings while disrespecting the sellers at a ridiculous level, if you are a buyer and complain, you will ALWAYS get your money back. (even if you lie) On top of that, if you pay with a Visa or MasterCard you get three layers of protection - 1) Ebay returns, 2) PayPal dispute, 3) Credit card chargeback. If you don't get your money back after those three you did something terribly wrong.
As a top rated ebay seller for over 18 years, I know how it works. The seller is always wrong, in ebay's opinion. (even though we pay all the bills)
I recently had someone return an item that had nothing wrong, they simply changed their mind. It cost $84. They didn't actually return it, they just sent an empty box with a tracking number. Ebay accepts this and tells the seller they are in the wrong. The buyer always gets a refund.
