Just as an FYI, Shell’s website has been updated to reflect Pennzoil Platinum’s designation as an SN Plus engine oil. Specs are a little skimpy (no HTHS or Noack), but are at least available.

The marketing verbiage that goes along with th TDS notes that it has been “Redesigned for modern turbocharged engines...”: perhaps a bit of a swipe at Valvoline’s “Modern Engine” formula, especially given the price difference.

Interestingly, other than a few Euro viscosities, Ultra Platinum seems to be nowhere. Whether this is just a website issue or a marketing change remains to be seen.

Shell has, by far, the best SDS/PDS site.

Ultra Platinum is still listed in Pennzoil's updated website...

Now if they would add certain info like HTHS and Noack it would be better.

Cannot see signatures any longer so it doesn’t matter.

Totally agree. Less concerned about HTHS, since these days there isn't much room to play with with specs like GF-5 and the gamut of euro certifications. Most oils of a particular spec only vary by +-0.1. For how much the talk about the "low volatility" of GTL, you'd think they would put a number to it.

Never give out enough information that would allow a discerning customer enough information to make an informed decision or tell them there really isn't that much difference between your product and product A and B!

Most of these sites are dumbed down anyway. Who cares about some ring or playing a transformers game?
