So after over 10 years, i have finally plans to take my S2000 back out on the track for a day. She's in mint condition with only 28000mles

im going to change all her fluids soon
Honda Blue Coolant/Antifreeze
Amsoil Synchromesh MTF
Amsoil Severe Gear 75W90 - Diff

Help me decide which oil to go with the Toyo Roki OEM filter

On my Shelf right now
M1 Euro FS 0W40
PUP 5W30
Total Quartz 9000 5W30

or should i buy
Amsoil Signature Series?
Motul?

I am leaning towards M1 Euro FS 0W40.... on the thicker side of a 30wt to handle the rpms and heat

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

PUP 0W40 FTW!!

My Hondas all HATED M1 oils, made them very noisy, my built and tracked B18C-R motor was similar to your F20 and would spin 9500RPM all day.

Just say NO to thin oils and M1!

For any of my modern track cars, I always had the best luck with M1 15w50. It gave me the best results with heat and oil pressure for turbo and NA cars.

Spec for you is 10w30 but without any additional oil cooling, I wouldn’t hesitate to bump up the viscosity. With an aftermarket oil cooler, I’d say stick with a quality synthetic 10w30.

M1 0w-40 is used by numerous race teams, I'm sure you'll be fine.

I thought you won $2000 at the track and spent some of it on an oil change. LOL

Definitely 40 weight for the track day.

PUP 5w30 is a great winter oil, one of the thinnest 30 oils in the market, I'd keep it for winter commuting - if you drive it in winter though smile .

With 28000 miles and 18 years in Canada I’d say he probably doesn’t. And for good reason.

Since you already have it, M1 0w40 FS.
A sleeper choice would be M1 10w30 High Mileage. It has elevated zddp over regular M1, and HTHS that is very close to M1 0w40 FS.

What track are you going to?

Lots of S2Ks on track. You'd do well to go to a track oriented forum, IMHO, and ask questions there. https://www.trackjunkies.org/ is a good one with quite a few S2K folks on it, including me.

I use OEM filters on my Hondas. The important thing, especially with the S2K, is to torque it properly. They sometimes come lose, which can ruin the motor fast and/or start a fire. Many people also put an oil filter lock on their car: http://www.gotuning.com/product_info.php?products_id=923

For fluids, I run Red Line 10W-30 in the engine, Red Line MT-85 in the transmission, and Red Line 75W140 NS in the diff.

They're pretty solid cars. Just don't mechanically overrev it and it'll be fine.

The M1 HM 10w30 does not have elevated ZDDP. The 0w40 also has the elevated Zn as well as the 5w50 and 15w50. Regardless, his engine doesn't really require it for adequate protection. I run the 5w50 in my new rebuilt engine with a new cam in my Land Cruiser and it does great.
