A commercial Additive or Performance Improvement package contains many different chemistry components with each individual component providing a specific benefit.

In your own words, explain the benefits a Multi-Functional "Thiadiazole-based" component would provide in a finished lubricant?

Swipes and YouTube dumps do not qualify as a valid answer.

This is a trick question... there are no benefits to putting thiadiazoles in engine oil!

There is however one HHUUUUUGGGGE disadvantage in adding them which is that thiadiazoles cost and arm, a leg, your spleen and both of your kidneys! (I seem to recall something in the order of $US 40,000/MT!).

No oil feature is worth that much...

I seem to remember using (small amounts of) BTZ in industrial-style gear oils a way back in time - I won't give away the punchline by saying why.

An X,X dimercapto-X,X,X-thiadiazole-type compound is a Multi-Functional (many functions) chemistry component in PI packages that serves as an ashless Corrosion Inhibitor, Metal Deactivator, and as an Antioxidant in various lubricants.
