This filter was run in the van through the winter months. Van is parked outside, loads of cold starts and about 80% short trips.

The Fram (made in Korea) Defense DL11665 appears to be of better quality construction. Pleats are more even, plastic cage is thicker/stronger. The Defense is also close to half the price. Here's a virgin DL11665 for reference.

Thanks for the C&P. The filter looks pretty good for the conditions it's been through. I like those type of filters because they are easy to change if they are on top of the engine.

You probably already know this but I'll throw it out there anyway; when Fram first introduced the 11665 they printed on the box that it was a 5,000 miles filter. Not sure what you intend on your OCI being but I always like to give people a heads up about that. I run 7,500 miles on both of my Pentastars so I stopped using them.

I've run the MO-349 and the Fram in TG and XG flavors. I'm using the XG right now after running it for the previous OCI. All are good to go IMO. The Mopar and the TG both came out with wavy pleats, the XG did not. I don't think the wavy pleats are a problem; just an anecdotal observation. I do think the MO-349 is a solid product and would run it again if they stop making the Fram. I never did it, but might be interesting to compare pleat count and media amounts sometime, but feel it is probably unnecessary.

If that's the case the Mopar filter should be a 3k filter.

What I like about cartridge filters is you get to inspect the quality *before* using it, which allows you to make a determination on the quality of the filter and the OCI length.

I can do that. I have both side by side at home. I'll do that and post by tomorrow.
