I just bought a Kazuma Meercat 50 atv for my son. The manual calls for 20w50 oil. That is all it says. Does anyone have any expierience with these machines? I will probably run Amsoil 20w50 motorcycle oil in the summer. I was thinking atv 0w40 or 10w40 in the winter.

Thought not the same atv....I run Amsoil 0W-40 in my son's Honda TRX 90.
You can also run Shell Rotella T 10W-40 in it also which is what I ran in the 90 before switching to the synthetic.
In a 50cc engine, IMO, I think a 20w-50 oil is too much for it.

I agree with ddrumman2004. Run a 0W or 10W40 and I bet the engine will run better.

Cool, I do have half a quart of red line 10w40 so I'll use that.

I'm not familiar with Redline, but it could cause problems with the wet clutch causing it to slip. I think Redline has a lot of moly. That ATV is low horsepower, so maybe it won't matter.
