Audi recommends change at 38K miles but the DL501 gearbox has a history of problems and the car is 3 years old so I decided to change it early. Everything looks good apart from the TAN. I had a good look on the web to find an expected TAN for the virgin oil (Audi/VW G052-529-A2) but failed, however it seems that ATF oil should start with a TAN of less than 1? If so can anyone suggest that my TAN is as expected or not?

2.34 is still pretty low, especially if Audi uses synthetic fluids from the factory, as they usually have a slightly higher starting TAN. Now that you've gotten most of the initial wear debris out, I don't think there'd be any issues going 38k on your current fill.

Thanks. However as my annual mileage is relatively low I shall likely change it again in 3 years anyway.
