"0W30 is a better oil. the 0W30 is a premium synthetic in the 30
weights... and the reason for that is and you'll see some adds from
Mobil this is our our premium PAO their hacking their talking about it
now and this is what Amsoil has bought for years from Mobil for the
0W30 is the more expensive highly purified perfect PAO base stock from
Mobil it cost more money but it is the premium one... so their not
charging us this extra money for the 0W30 just to charge us extra money
they are paying more money for that superior base stock they buy to
go into it so it is the premium of the 30 weights. I think its the
same, I think its the same, no I think its the same base stock one
for a 5w30 for diesel and one 0W30 for gasoline application."

C'mon, we've seen much more cohesive freestyling than that on BITOG

Trtanslation: We buy PAO base from ExxonMobil corp (not "Mobil 1", a product trademark) for our AMSOIL "EPX 0W30" ACEA, MB, LL01 and it costs more to blend than AMSOIL "OER 5W30" SN/GF-5, so that's why retail is higher. [random names]

I read 'Mobil 1 SN' above in Mr Armoury's post and didn't notice the "FS" in your next post, my fault. I quite honestly despise having to think about how many gd mobil 1's there are. M1 PQ is different than M1 PQ^2... gawd i just want to find one thread on this board that doesnt have m1 in it.

Except the FS was a later inclusion to the 5W30 recommendation that was NOT BLS's first recommendation.

He MEANT 5W30 ILSAC, same as he uses in Mr Honda and recommends to everyone on the motorcycle forums.

THEN checked the 229.5 list, and found the FS...is that even available in US ?

Everything is available in the US, and it'll be cheaper than the EU or the old South Pacific penal colony.
Google is your friend.

Sorry,
didn't see it on Mobil's list

Here's the google search

google search.

Only one that has the M1 5W30 FS on the first page is Mobil Egypt.

Add United States, and the only "FS" is the 0W40 FS.

Are you at the red pills in the HRT packet ???

Which oil is better??? does the differences among the brands have a
meaningful effect on how your engine is wearing??? Blackstone data
says no, they can't state that one type of oil is better than another...

for the audeince, this is the point in the dance where BLS uses the "look over there a bunny" technique...

BLS, the 5W30 M1 that you recommended does NOT meet the MB229.5 for the engines in question, and has too low an HTHS for the specific application being discussed...the Amsoil paper is wear on street engines (non diesel), using ILSAC oils.

while in the motorbike forum, people who foolishly follow your "gravity flow", and friction modifiers don't hurt clutches (when the manufacturers strictly call for a Jaso clutch spec), worst that can happen is that they get stranded and have to pay for repairs.

Planes dont get stranded in the air.

MB have some specific oil requirements...

Yes, the Egypt site is an easy find, although why XOM would find it desirable to offer this oil in that climate is beyond me.
Try the many specialist oil sellers in the US. They stock all sorts of odd ducks not imported by their makers.
What is this HRT packet you write of and what is the significance of the red pills?
Are you a user?
If so, what do these red pills do to or for you?
I ask only because you seem to have a more than passing familiarity with this topic you've brought into the thread.

Would not be MB 229.51 standard more appropriate since airplanes uses low ash oils to prevent valve and sparkplug faulings?

I find it interesting there was no Delvac in the HD diesel section … but there was T6 as a 40 in the mix of 30’s …
I run Delvac 1 in my 5.3L … and after 10k I don’t even plan an UOA since this “report” does not give me a reason …

Engine in question is a diesel Mercedes-Benz 2.0L engine
