Im surprised no one rear ended you while posting on bitog.
I may be reading the OP wrong, but I got the impression that he stopped in the right lane, turned on the hazards and crossed the road by foot to the ATM, leaving the vehicle unattended, with hazards on.

My original post was about seeing a stopped vehicle ahead of you in the right lane (on a residential street, not a highway as some are assuming/ straight road, my truck could be seen from a long way away) with the hazards on and a clear lane beside it and no traffic around.
