I would note, that I have a chonda generator that was born for gasoline. I put a tri-fuel carb on it but the propane part is... finicky. Getting one born for propane is better from a reliability, and liability, point-of-view.

Could you (easily) get this to work with natural gas?

One of the main reasons I never bought a generator is the gasoline issue, storing enough is cost prohibitive and it can go bad. Propane is a little better, but during an emergency, you may not be able to get tanks refilled.

I have NG at the house, so running a line for a generator for an "unlimited" and fairly inexpensive source and not having to worry about storing the fuel makes a lot more sense than gasoline/propane.

My tri-fuel carb easily switches to CNG. Wish I could see pictures of the actual propane-inator on that Sportsman to pass judgement.

As you can see on this carb (like mine) there's a plastic switch between LPG and CNG.

I have a few doubts about the 4k watt rating from 208 cc... I have 196 cc on my 2500 watt/ 3250 surge. A 20 lb propane bottle can frost up supplying fuel to mine when it's wide-open, so one might consider routing the exhaust to keep the tank warm (safely?).

I've accumulated several 20 lb tanks from the dump... yuppies just throw them out... BJs wholesale fills them for $10.75 or there's always the Blue Rhino exchange.

usually those 212CC are good for aprox 6.5hp on gasoline.

this is a 4000w "surge" generator.. maybe 3500 max or so on gasoline. That lines up as slightly optimistic for a 212cc engine but not crazy.

I'd expect 10% lower maybe 3000watts on propane.

Just ordered one and used my "Savings Catcher" credits to lower the cost. I just paid roughly the same amount for a used Honda 2.5kW gas generator. I'll probably use this one on propane only, and I like the RV plug feature. My wife has been wanting a small camper, and this would complement that.
