I never knew this. Thought it was interesting this article is saying warranty "do not open" stickers are not valid.

Manufacturers have to protect themselves too. Subaru is one example where owners modded and tuned the engines, then when something happened all the stuff was removed and the car brought to the dealer hoping to get warranty service.

Unfortunately we all pay for the gamers who game the system for their benefit.

Johnny.. I knew someone will try to attach the two.. no totally unrelated.

Only thing I can relate to is that some say your car warranty is only valid if serviced by dealer. (old myth) I have a bunch of co workers that are "dealer only" type people for this reason.

I came across plenty of electronics that I did not want to open up because of this sticker... Dell computers, VCRs, Security DVRS.. etc. This is the first time I heard of this. apparently a couple other news outlets also posted this article.
