Is there a reason that google prevents you from going straight to a specific URL?

Example:

Note it's a website, but the URL in the browser is:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.gunsamerica.com/blog/heckler-koch-pistol-shootout-p30-vs-hk45/amp/

Is there a way to prevent that other than deleting the extra part of the URL?

Generally don't care but sometimes I like to use the reader function in safari and the google URL prevents it.

Google deciding what is appropriate in their minds.

I use Duck Duck Go and just tried that url. It auto filled and went directly to the website. I suggest quitting Google.

Advertising. Google gets a fraction of a cent for each search where the "top results" were paid for in order to move up the list.

Maybe it's the "amp" in the URL?

AMP is the accelerated mobile project by Google that precaches certain content so that mobile users don't need to fully load the page.

On my smartphone with 4G, AMP pages load crazy fast.

It's an AMP link. The first results are AMP links which are google ads.

AMP is Accelerated Mobile Pages. Google caches a stripped-down version of your page specifically formatted for phones.

I've blocked google in my hosts file. I'd rather not have them collect all my personal info. I use Dogpile, better then duck, duck,go, IMO.
