2002 Volvo S40 1.9T 76K miles. 10K OCI. Mobil 1 5W-30. Same oil in, Fram XG 8712 back on. NAPA filter was made in Poland.

Nicely made.

Personally, I would prefer to buy a filter from Poland than from China.

Looks good. The only way to be sure is to cut the media away from the centre tube and stretch it out looking for holes. Just a suggestion.

I have some very cheap, made in China filters that look similar to this. Who knows which is better.
Nice to see a filter not fall apart.

Looks good! Thank you for posting thumbsup

Definitely not bad for a 10k OCI on an economy filter!

And wow that Fram Ultra is expensive! The Wix XP/Napa Platinum costs much less. Plus the fact that your cheap Proselect came out looking great smile

But with cartridge filters, I like to stick with Mann/Mahle/Hengst/Purflux

How is your S40 in terms of reliability? Have you had any problems with it? I've always liked that car for some reason, particularly the V40 wagon.

Iíve always found the plastic end caps interesting since the OE filter has foam. They seem to fit rather rough too.

Good looking filter nonetheless especially after 10k.

Its a solid old car. It has a small evap leak and needed a fuel pressure regulator last year. Other than that she's reliable. And yes the Fram was expensive, even at WM. Since I now do the OC's, Im going to keep a few NAPAS in stock. I will change the oil once a year since it gets so little use and keep it on M1.
