Relatives of mine had similar nonsense from their Honda dealer:

1. Dealer did all they could to avoid warranty work. This was then the vehicle was less than a year old.
2. Dealer would perform "maintenance services" long before recommended by Honda, to charge hefty fees.
3. When the dealership changed ownership, the new owner claimed they had none of the service records from the previous owner.
 
You talk about building a relationship with a dealer that you can trust. It sounds like you are saying they are not earning your trust and they are instead earning your mistrust. Walk away and never look back.
