I've never been asked, but I respect this requirement of a civilized, just society. I hope it works out for you.

I'm about due. Last time I was there, they had about 200 prospective jurors and said the case could last up to 3 weeks. Raise your hand if you can't commit to that long of a trial. I raised my hand along with some others and we were told, Thank you for your service. This concludes your juror duty. Please see the clerk on your way out to let her know you were here.

I hope he puts the phone away if picked! LOL

The act of preventative maintenance, in and of itself, is FAR MORE important than brand/grade/base choices among lubes and filters.
- under maintaining something is akin to abuse/neglect; that can kill equipment by shortening the lifespan
- over maintaining something has never been proven to be anything but a waste of time and money

I just got thru with Grand Jury duty. Very eye opening. 99.999% is al related to drugs or alcohol. This is a car related forum. I can't tell you how many cases started with a safety stop for alight out and went VERY downhill from there. Amazing what people drive around with in their cars.

I served jury duty and it lasted two weeks. I reported at 10 AM and was out everyday but one by the courts noon lunch hour.
The county court paid jurors $10 per day. I parked blocks away and walked to avoid parking meters and the parking garage.
My employer paid me my normal wage minus the juror pay.

Or pay full price for a car. My sister was on a trial once, during the case it came up that the person was buying a car. It was a Hyundai. They paid the sticker price. She thought it was strange that they didn't try to negotiate the price. I guess they treated it like the price at Walmart, the price is the price.

I don't know about Tennessee, but in Ohio and I'm guessing in most of America, a lot of possession cases are dismissed. I can show proof of it. My dad is a retired attorney. When you watch COPS on TV, the drug addict who claims the heroin/rig/tar/stem/boy/weed/kit/crack... the cop found in their car or on them isn't theirs is saving his/her butt from being found guilty. The person will likely be charged and might spend time in jail, but most possession cases are dismissed.

The past 15 years I've tossed my jury summons in the trash.

I'm too busy at work to go to court for some criminal.

I am over 50 and have never been called for jury duty.
My sister got called several times in Cook County and was told to report to downtown Chicago every time but one despite living in the burbs...she never drove and didn't like taking the L, so she took a series of buses back and forth every day until her time was up. One time she was ordered to report to a court in a faraway suburb and was told that there were plentiful mass transit options when she called to explain that she didn't have a car...I think she figured out that it was going to take her at least 2.5 hours each way. She finally was able to get transferred to the court in the town where we grew up and where she still lived.
My wife was on a jury while pregnant and was threatened by some jag with whom she dared to disagree...he told her he was a delivery driver and would figure out where she lived since he knew her name. She locked herself in the bathroom and the jag was escorted from the premises...I couldn't believe that he wasn't charged, threatening somebody in a courthouse???
I asked my wife for his name several times because I wanted to find him and beat him within an inch of his life, but she knew what I was up to and she never told me.

The court doesn't stamp your parking ticket / pass so you don't have to pay for parking ?

I guess you are a criminal since you have been ignoring the summonses!

I've been on a couple of juries. I found it interesting and was happy to do my duty.
