Ya,Ya I know this is taboo product here on BITOG

But for $1 a bottle why not ?? Seems to help some for my HI-MI rides lol

This is valid only at Walmart market locations. Looks like they're keeping the high mileage bottles and clearancing out the blue ones ???

Back in the 60's when I was a kid growing up we had a few sayings for what the letters STP stood for. We never knew it really stood for Scientifically Treated Petroleum!

Too bad it doesnt have the big ZDP anymore.

You could put worse stuff in an old engine.

Say you had oil sheared out of grade and the engine is getting clattery - a few TBS of this may help - at least temporarily.

Back in the day we used Motor Medic "Motor Honey" to the same effect.

Assembly lube. If I didn't have lots of assembly lube already from the dozens of Kia engines I've put together. Door hinges? Sliding door tracks? Coat the kitchen floor in the stuff and watch the magic happen.

Found I still own some of the old stuff. Maybe save it for a hot weather towing trip this summer? Or add to the lawnmower?

Never ever used it, but then again I will not use any off the shelf additives. Oil already has plenty of additives in it and more is not better. A quick google search of "consumer reports and STP" reveal that CR did some testing and found no benefit with using STP and concluded that it would make a 10w30 oil like a 15w40 oil.http://www.xs11.com/xs11-info/articles/51-consumer-reportstruth-motor-oils-july-1996.html

"A popular belief is that 5W-30 oils are TOO THIN (emphasis added) to protect vital engine parts when they get hot. However, one of our laboratory tests measured the viscosity of oils under high-temperature, high-stress conditions and found essentially no difference between 5W-30 oils and their 10W-30 brand mates. But at low temperatures, the 5W-30 oil flowed more easily."

Funny, 18 years later people consider 5w30 "thick oil"

Good to know. I use it for for making bar oil for my chain saws. 1 bottle to a gallon of oil. For many years I have used oil from my oil changes on my vehicles. My bars have lasted for many many years.
