My extravagant (ridiculous?) filtration system

OK, I think I have just about exceeded the limits of rationality, LOL!

The red Baldwin BT839-10 Transmission line filter (far left) makes perfect sense, of course. Most wouldn’t argue that.

The rest is what happens when some mechanically inclined guys
have too many parts laying around - & are also infinitely curious people!

To the extreme right is a dual oil filter mount,
Similar to perma-cool (says made in Japan?)

Second from right is a Hastings LF334
(same as Baldwin B164, or Fram P3404) bypass filter.

If one is good, two is better, correct ?!?
3rd from the left is a monster size Wix 51749

Oil leaves the oil pump & flows through the block adapter to the dual filter mount,
Through the dual full-flow filters, ( never go into “bypass mode”)
Then through a small 3/16” steel line to the Hastings LF334,
The clean oil flowing out of the Hastings LF334 flows into the big Wix,
Then goes into the passenger side valve cover through the oil fill cap.
Various bits & pieces of the system have been posted on this board over time,
But this weekend is when it was all mounted & plumbed up.

The extra capacity is somewhat staggering...
I’m pretty sure the stock oil pan holds 6 quarts -
It took 5 more qts of oil to bring the level to the full mark.

Honestly, that wasn’t the intent - just coincidental

You have taken Bypass Filtration to the next level!!! Looks like you have some room to set up your mounts without being cramped for space. What vehicle do you have your filtration system hooked up on?

25k? I'd probably just do filter swap and UOA at 25k. With so much top up you'd likely never need to drain the sump.

You'd still run into TBN/TAN issues eventually, unless you were adding a replacement quart every 5k miles or so, and something tells me that Linctex's engine isn't going through that much oil.

How many gallons of oil to take care of that with new oil filters? Maybe you should add and over size oil pan.

It's great to see your setup on your truck. I've shown on my 5.4L V8 on my 2011 Expedition that these modular V8 engines are pretty easy on oil. From my experience whenever you replace your full flow filters at say 25k miles, your replacement oil should be sufficient to keep the TBN viable.
Here's my recent uoa's on my current 78k mile run and counting
75k oil uoa https://imgur.com/gallery/YmO4D

I unscrewed a Fram HM2 (FL-820S size) and drained maybe a cup?

With 2 new full-flow (FL-1A size) and the two bypass filters,
I had to add 5 quarts.

1) Micron Rating is less (not as fine)
2) They are CHEAP! Only $3-$4 each
I can replace 3 LF334 / P3404 for each 1749 / 51749

It has a synthetic Frankenbrew in the sump right now,
Oil added was:
4 qts Delo Syn 5W-40 (API SM) and
1 qt Penn Plat 5W-20

I think the ADBV on the old filter must have reached the end of its useful life ...

I usually had a little bit of lifter rattle for the first second or two after starting -
It is completely silent & has instant oil pressure when I start it now.

Have you done any update posts since this install ?
