They were a week early...

Impulse buying cars for me takes at least a week...not 10 minutes.

Ok, so it wasn't a vending machine....

But real estate in Japan is AT A PREMIUM... not kidding at all.
Many many many car parking places use vertical storage.

When I was in Yokosuka in 1997, my apartment faced a Daihatsu dealer that was about 10 stories tall, and glass like that. The cars moved around in it like you would see a vending machine move them.

When you can't store cars laterally - you MUST go vertical!

I like the idea. Still don't get why we need dealers. Since this seems to give you a 3 day test drive, it seems perfect. Financing these days can be done from your computer, you go select the car, have it for 3 days to decide and done.

With my most recent purchase the dealer is just the middleman - I knew what I wanted, they put us in a car for an hour, and I ended up ordering it. I can even track it's progress online. Financing will be either through them our our credit union whoever is cheapest. No real need for the dealer other than that test drive and a place to pick it up.
