I'm helping my buddy install Monroe Quick Struts. We opened the packages today and three struts have a 2017 date code and one is 2015.

Does sitting in a warehouse for 3 yrs negatively affect a strut? If it will perform fine than it's not worth the hassle of return shipping and possibly getting old stock again.

Correct - - movement wears them out.

I had one strut fail after sitting around for a few years. But then again, it was 1 of 4, with 20+ years of use and 190k miles
