Just picked up two, 5 quart jugs of PP 0w20 from Oreily AP. The two jugs are on the same receipt. I submitted one rebate form online and uploaded the receipt. Do I need to fill out another electronic form or will they see that two jugs were purchased from looking at the receipt?

Edited to add: First time I have ever tried a SOPUS rebate.

I got my rebate for 2 Jugs of 5w-30 I turned it in online Scanned my receipt and sent it in I got my rebate for both Jugs. Yes and the rebate form is a bit vague. It should have the option of number of Jugs.

No. One form for the same receipt. If you did two they'd probably reject if they got the same receipt on both.

They credit you for everything they see on that receipt.

Whoops. I did it the opposite way; two electronic forms with two copies of the same receipt. Sent it last week so Iíll wait and see what happens and report back. LOL

You'll probably get a postcard indicating that one of them was rejected because it was a duplicate submissions. That even happens to me when their rebate website is clunky and I have to click submit several times. I wouldn't necessarily panic if that happens--I got one, but still got my rebate check for 2 5-quart jugs.

Thanks for the information. I have read on here that SOPUS tends to get their rebates out quicker than Mobil?

That hasn't been my experience. About that same. However, Pennzoil has denied legitimate, fully documented claims on at least two occasions for me. I've never had that happen with Mobil.

Were the rejections prior to 2016? To my knowledge on here, only 1 person had a failed SOPUS rebate during 2016-2017. See 2 previous threads for those years. Any time there was a problem I called the rebate center and issues were resolved. More often than not, the denials or failure to get submissions through the system were because of something the submitter did incorrectly.

Yes, SOPUS was faster than Mobil in 2017. They typically took 13-33 days to deliver your check. My two were 18 and 22 days. Mobil took 12 weeks! And numerous others reported 5-8 weeks typical for Mobil last year. But it's a new year. And things can change.

If you get a rejection postcard like I did (no purchase date.... REALLY?!?!!?)

can you re-submit somehow?

Yep my was refused the first time for no date. The date was right on the receipt. I think those third parties that run these things get paid for tuning down rebate requests. Anyway the second time I submitted it to the SOPUS contact page on their website. I had it in two weeks.

It would have been '15 or earlier. I've avoided getting Pennzoil rebates since then because of their track record for rejecting valid claims. And no, it wasn't because I missed anything. I'm extremely detail oriented on paperwork, and always go over paperwork two or three times to make sure everything is correct. I can't recall what they rejected each for, but in both instances it was something that I knew had been provided.

I am going to give them another chance this year, though. We will see how they do.

I've explained this before about how the rebate processors are incentivized by the manufacturers to keep the redemption rates nice and low. In fact, my understanding is that this is how they get the contract in the first place. Can't meet that commitment to the manufacturer? No problem, just run some database commands to invalidate a percentage of rebates before they are paid out... Problem solved!!

But they never balk at fulfilling if you have the paperwork. It's part of the game. Look at it this way, if it weren't for this game, you and me wouldn't be able to get these scores. shocked

Yes. I had a Walmart.com order with no receipt so I just sent a screenshot of the email confirmation. Originally I scrolled too far and the purchase date did not show. I resubmitted a screenshot showing the date and got my check today, about 10days later.

I bought 5 each 1 Qt bottles and got a rebate check for $4. Turns out the rebate is good for only 2 quart bottles. It is good for 2 each 5 quart bottles. Odd ball rebate terms.
