We've been having cold and sunny here all week in CNY. I love it - it's exactly what I need. The snow just evaporates instead of melting and running into my crawlspace.

Yesterday, in the N. Georgia mountains, we never got above 32, with wind gusts up to 24 mph. And snow flurries up until dusk. Some accumulation but nothing like your pics showed.

Actually most of the snow sublimates, it does not melt or evaporate.
