Without this info, no advice can be given. Without a UOA, even the advice we give is best guess. With your driving pattern, rate of consumption AND a UOA we can give you an educated recommendation, but even it would not be 100% spot on.
What I'm saying, in other words, is that on a scale of 1 to 10 for how good our advice will be, you're at a 2. The best we can do is about an 8 (my own made up scale, so it is obviously irrefutable!)
I'm probably using +/- 1 to 2 quarts between changes. I usually drive this jeep on and around base, and hunting (mostly off-road or on [censored] dirt roads) I sometimes do drive it long distance, but not so much lately.
It spends it's life undeniably dirty.
+/- 2 quarts!? I've never heard of an engine giving BACK oil!
JK, of course. 1-2 quarts isn't bad over 6k miles. It will replenish the add pack, but not enough to allow for something like a 10K interval, without first sending a sample out for analysis.
How many miles do you drive / year?
Off-road? I'd make sure to have a very stout oil in there - much stouter than the vanilla Mobil 1. If you tend to take large angles or slosh the oil around, you might need to rely on a robust add pack to protect your engine briefly, if the hydrodynamic wedge is compromised and you end up in the boundary region of lubrication.
