I had to buy 2 tires for my truck because I drove it with the front end out of alignment. Well Walmart wont mount the wheels. But they will install and balance the tires and I can mount them myself. I know it will be alright as long as I dont use 4 WD. Should I go for it or not?

Hey!

But yeah, AWD is affected because the TC is always engaged. I have different tires in the front, but by the time I engage in 4WD, one tire is on a rock, one in mud, one in the air, and one is on a tree branch (or trunk, did that before). There can be no conversation regarding the tire tread at that point.

I take in oddballs fairly often, then put the wheels on myself. The most common is, when I am putting only two Winter tires on a vehicle.

Back to the 4WD, if selectable, who would ever use it on dry pavement, or even gravel? 4WD is ment the to be used when you have slippage.
